HIBERNATE BEDDING 80 Morristown Road Bernardsville (Kings Plaza) www.hibernatebedding.com 908-766-5450 By: Kaylynn Ebner When Pamela Nardone’s stepson Scott Paladini opened Hibernate Bed- ding in 2012 (with locations in Bernardsville and Hoboken), the goal was to create the opposite of the typi- cal mattress-shopping experience: a calm, hassle-free atmosphere with a distinctive inventory. After all, who wants to lay down in the middle of a busy showroom, with a salesperson standing over them talking prices? Nardone, who currently owns and operates the business and is a lifelong Somerset County resident, says Hiber- nate Bedding has “beautiful, unique options that you’re not going to find everywhere.” So, what makes Hibernate Bed- ding so special? At the core of the store’s offerings are its mattresses. “We have a really good representation of all the different types of mattresses that are available on the market,” says Nardone. “I have something for everyone.” The inventory ranges from very inex- pensive mattresses all the way to hand- made luxury and organic mattresses. At Hibernate Bedding , you’ll find: • Traditional coil mattresses in a vari- ety of styles, and in recognized brands like Simmons Beautyrest and Stearns & Fosters. • Organic mattresses produced by top organic mattress makers. • Imported and domestic handmade luxury mattresses. • Memory foam mattresses from Tempur-Pedic and others. In addition, Hibernate Bedding offers headboards, pillows, sheets, mattress toppers, and other acces- sories intended to help shoppers sleep like babies night after night. Top Three Mattress-Buying Tips When shoppers enter Hibernate Bedding , Nardone wants them to feel comfortable and taken care of. Here are Nardone’s tips for ensuring you have a top-notch mattress-buying experience. 1. Don’t be afraid of smaller stores. People are often afraid that smaller stores have higher prices, but that’s not the case. “The manufacturers set the prices and that’s what we use. If we receive a sale price, we offer the sale price,” Nardone states. “If I can do better on certain things, then I will.” 2. Buy from someone knowl- edgeable. With slews of mattresses to choose from, shoppers would be lost without help. Nardone and her hus- band have been in the mattress busi- ness for decades, and it shows in their customer service. “I educate shoppers about what it means to sleep on a tra- ditional mattress versus organic, or which styles might be best for their unique needs,” says Nardone. 3. Spend time. Hibernate Bed- ding invites customers to lay on a mat- tress, get comfortable, and take it all in. “You can’t make a decision in five min- utes,” says Nardone, who says she’ll offer shoppers a magazine and then leave them alone to enjoy trying a new mattress. “It’s a big purchase. I want them to be sure that this is ‘The One.'” In the end, Nardone hopes Hiber- nate Bedding will help shoppers get a restful sleep, with a low-stress shopping experience. She states, “Come in and see how easy it is to buy a mattress.” Hibernate Bedding Brings Serenity and Variety to Mattress Buying PAGE 70 home & design
