Local Artist, Ann Smiga Greene, adorns our front cover with a watercolor entitled, “Almost Spring”. She states, “Watercolor florals have always been a passion for me. This painting is on 140 lb. cold press watercolor paper and painted with transparent watercolors. I use a wet-on-wet technique which allows the paint to flow and blend freely creating soft edges. While the paper surface is wet, I lift color and sculpt shapes always conscious of saving my white areas. Once the painting is dry, I add darker values, calligraphic lines, spatter and negative painting.” Ann generally chooses to work spontaneously and intuitively. She has won numerous awards and her paintings are in several private collections. Please read Ann’s impressive bio on page 8.
Our Bridgewater-Somerville “Spot the Fake Ad” winner is Jennifer Hutchinson of Bridgewater. Jennifer won a gift certificate to Golden Corner Diner.
