After initially opening six years ago in Montclair, L&B Pet Markets was ready to expand its franchise. New Providence was the perfect spot. The latest small-business, family-owned and operated location includes all of the bells and whistles that make your fuzzy friends eagerly anticipate their trips to the store.

first, L & B Pet Markets stocks a wide array of brands, including frozen food, freeze-dried, air-dried, canned, and regular kibble as well as treats with either single or few ingredients that have no unnecessary fillers, preservatives or dyes.
Mike Delia is the owner of the company and runs three stores (including a Summit location) along with both his parents. “I grew up in the area and I’m so happy to return to the community as a small business owner,” he proudly beams. “My favorite thing to do is serve the community by helping find the right food or supplement to meet your pets’ needs, cure their allergies, and improve their lives,” he says. “I work seven days a week in the stores. It’s my passion. I love every second of what I do and it’s an absolute privilege to be able to serve in this way.”
He sees a trend of pet owners being more health-focused and more conscious of the poor-quality ingredients in many “commercial” and “grocery” brands. The changes when pets switch to a higher-quality food brand are evident. “We have found that 99% of the time, a change to the diet by adding some real food fixes the problem,” he says.
Mike enjoys getting to know customers and the experience is not transactional. “Our goal is to know every single owner’s name, pet’s name, the food they’re on, and any issues they may be experiencing,” he says, “We want to know every individual customer’s situation with their dog or cat. For us, it’s personal, and of course, their pets are family!”
With full grooming services as well as a state-of-the-art self-wash bath for customers to use, L&B Pet Markets is ready for customers to stop in with their four-legged loved ones.
