Cadicina Divorce and Family Law firm is pleased to announce that Angela M. Scafuri, Esq. has been sworn in as the President of the Morris County Bar Association. Ms. Scafuri took the oath of office, which was administered by Morris County Assignment Judge the Honorable Stuart N. Minkowitz. Ms. Scafuri has served as a member of the MCBA since 2008. She was elected to serve as a Trustee for four years and thereafter was elected to the Executive Board where she has served in several roles, including Secretary, Treasurer, and Vice President. Ms. Scafuri served as the President-Elect in 2021. She also served as the President of the charitable arm of the Association, the Morris County Bar Foundation in 2020.
Ms. Scafuri also serves as an accredited mediator in both family and civil matters and has been trained as a collaborative law attorney. She is one of the few trained mediators in New Jersey authorized to mediate cases that include a domestic violence Final Restraining Order.
Ms. Scafuri is a partner at Cadicina Law in Morristown, New Jersey, where she works with clients on issues including alimony and child support, custody and parenting time, same-sex divorce and dissolution, the drafting of pre-marital, separation and property settlement agreements, and domestic violence matters. She represents clients in divorce litigation as well as alternative dispute resolution methods such as mediation, arbitration, and collaborative practice.
Ms. Scafuri has been qualified by the Supreme Court of New Jersey as a Certified Matrimonial Law Attorney. She has been consistently recognized by Best Lawyers in both Family Law and Family Law Mediation and in New Jersey Super Lawyers and in New Jersey Monthly – “Super Lawyers.” She has been previously recognized by her peers as one of the “Top 40 Under 40” by the New Jersey Law Journal. In 2020, Ms. Scafuri was recognized by Morris Health and Life for family law and in 2021, Ms. Scafuri was named in Super Lawyers Top 50 Women Attorneys in New Jersey.
Ms. Scafuri also serves on the Executive Board for the New Jersey Association for Justice Matrimonial Committee and is a member of the Family Law Section of the New Jersey State Bar Association. She is also a Master in the Barry Croland Inns of Court for Northern New Jersey.
Ms. Scafuri’s goals for the MCBA include: continuing to foster and enhance the relationship between attorney practitioners and the judiciary and attorneys and the public; advancing the cause of social justice, equality and inclusion; and to create and encourage supports for lawyers and law students facing mental health issues.
“I look forward to leading the MCBA with passion and purpose. The Morris County Bar Association is one of the largest County Bar Associations in the State, with over 600 attorney members. It is my hope to foster a community of inclusion as well as to provide continuing education programs for both attorneys and the public. In addition, particularly during the Covid-19 pandemic, we have seen an increase in attorneys facing mental health challenges and we hope to create new supports and outreach programs to assist attorneys to cope with the uncertain challenges brought on by the Covid-19 pandemic.”
Ms. Scafuri will serve as the 122nd President of the Morris County Bar Association for 2022.
