The Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) Program educates people about disaster preparedness for hazards that may impact their area and trains them in basic disaster-response skills. Using the training learned in the classroom and during exercises, CERT volunteers can assist others in their community following a disaster when professional responders are not immediately available to help. Learn how to help yourself, your family, your neighbors, and your community when disaster strikes!
BONUS: Upon successfully completing the CERT program, not only are you more prepared to help yourself, your family, neighbors, and community, you have the OPPORTUNITY to JOIN YOUR LOCAL TOWN’S CERT and/or the Somerset County CERT. To top it off, Watchung, Warren, Green Brook, and Bound Brook formed a “4-Town CERT” to leverage the number of active volunteers among our towns in both real-life situations as well as in continued training. There is no obligation to become a CERT volunteer. Our Watchung, Warren, Green Brook, and Bound Brook leaders and volunteers welcome you. Come join us!
