Dr. Patti Swaintek-Lamb opened the doors of Aesthetic Dentistry of Bernardsville just over 25 years ago. At Aesthetic Dentistry, we have always prided ourselves on being an advocate for your overall health and we will continue to provide our patients with modern dental care with a personalized approach.
If the uncertainty of the COVID-19 threat has you feeling anxious, you’re not alone. Most people want to do everything they can to stay healthy. What you may not realize that regular brushing and flossing and continuing to routinely see your dentist for exams can greatly improve your health and strengthen your immune system. Healthy mouth, healthy body.
In order to keep your oral health in tip-top shape, we recommend that our patients schedule an appointment for a cleaning every 3, 4, or 6 months. It’s important to keep up with these visits, especially now. During a cleaning appointment, we will remove plaque and tartar so it doesn’t stick to your teeth and cause issues like decay and gum disease. While brushing and flossing at home help prevent build-ups, only a professional can completely remove tartar.
During these appointments, we will also inspect your mouth to ensure that everything is looking healthy and problem-free. Maintaining a schedule of regular visits makes sure we spot any small issues before they potentially snowball into larger problems.
For example, unchecked bacteria and plaque can damage your cardiovascular system, making you susceptible to a stroke or heart attack. It can also weaken your immune system. Bacteria can migrate from your gums to other parts of the body causing inflammation that takes a serious toll on your health. Worn down teeth can cause changes in your bite that may lead to headaches and jaw pain. A broken-down smile can be an indicator of much more serious health problems that can affect your sleep, leaving you feeling unrefreshed and miserable in the morning.
Our patients also understand that our work goes beyond just fixing tooth decay when it pops up. We also want to make sure everyone who comes to see us feels confident about their smiles. When you feel confident about smiling, you’ll smile more. And that boosts your health and that of your loved ones as well!
In order to help you achieve the smile you have always wanted and keep you healthy, our team offers a variety of preventative, cosmetic, and restorative procedures. Based on your goals, our team may recommend in-office or take-home whitening trays, Invisalign clear aligner treatment, implants to replace missing teeth, or minimally invasive veneers. We are proud that we can offer state of the art technology that is more comfortable for our patients and allows us to precisely diagnose your condition.
If you’re ready to start smiling again, reach out to us and schedule a new patient exam or a consultation. We look forward to making sure you are always healthy and PROUD TO SMILE!
