After helping patients for 20 years in New York City, Jill Hoefs, MPT relocated Body Align Physical Therapy to New Providence, NJ in 2020. While this decision was dictated by the pandemic, not choice, it turned out for the best! Jill loves being part of the New Providence community and particularly enjoys her short commute from Summit, where she lives with her husband and three over-scheduled children.
Jill’s approach at Body Align Physical Therapy utilizes a combination of manual therapies (such as myofascial release, scar tissue massage, and stretching) with treatment techniques (like cupping, taping, cold laser therapy, and strength training) to help patients meet their goals. Jill creates personalized programs for each patient after a thorough evaluation. At Body Align Physical Therapy, you will never be paired up with a different therapist, receive treatments from a rehab aide, or share gym space with strangers. You’ll always receive the undivided attention you deserve.
You may be surprised by what Jill discovers – old scars restricting movement, tight TMJ muscles causing headaches, elbow pain coming from weakness near your shoulder blade, how changing your breathing pattern can improve your symptoms, and more. Jill’s holistic approach will help you to avoid future injuries by treating the root of the problem; not just the symptoms.
Jill’s passion is for helping pregnant and postpartum patients. She believes too many women don’t receive the care they need for abdominal pain, embarrassing urine leaks, pelvic floor and tailbone pain, painful sex, aching menstrual cycles, digestive troubles, and more. Jill can help women enjoy life without pain and self-consciousness.
She co-wrote a book, Your Best Pregnancy, sharing her expertise on the subject. The book addresses and provides treatment solutions for common pregnancy pains and discomforts that they often treat at Body Align Physical Therapy. Jill’s women’s health practice includes patients with breast and pelvic cancers. She began studying breast cancer rehabilitation in 2019 when she noted a rise in diagnoses among her patients and wanted to help them manage their pain and symptoms. Jill traveled around the country to study under the best professors for this specialized skill set and is now a PORi-Certified Oncology Rehabilitation Therapist.
Jill understands the physical and mental stress of new parenthood and encourages moms to prioritize their physical needs. With her care, you can hold your baby without pain, jump at the trampoline park without leaking, improve your posture and stop wearing your corrective posture brace, exercise safely at home or in a small group class in her office, feel less anxiety, and have less pain and tightness throughout your body. Don’t let postpartum pains limit you — take the first step towards a stronger body so you can feel like yourself again.
