A New Year, A New Home Design
By Katrina Musto
CertaPro Painters, a provider of residential and commercial interior and exterior painting services, has franchises all over the country. Bob Jamrog, President and Owner of the Hunterdon and Central Somerset County branches has noticed customers becoming sophisticated in their recent purchases by requesting a broader range of services from the “painter,” such as color consultation, wallpaper removal, carpentry, and cabinet painting.
CertaPro Painters services include pressure washing, wallpaper removal, cabinet painting, epoxy garage floors, deck staining, interior, and exterior painting and staining, and light carpentry. With business hours from 9:00 am – 5:00 pm Monday through Friday (although often providing estimates and executing projects on off-hours and weekends), Jamrog continually strives to live by and run the business by the “golden rule” we all learned back in our school days, which is treating others the way in which you would like to be treated.
“We approach each project with the idea that we are painting this customer’s home as though it were our own home,” he says.
What sets CertaPro Painters apart from other companies? They are built on quality, not just the quality of the paint job but the overall experience, says Jamrog. They begin every job by setting up the estimate then providing a detailed proposal clearly defining the scope of work and corresponding costs associated with each aspect of the project. Crews then show up with the production manager previewing the project with the paint crew and customer. In most cases, they do not take deposits, yet have the customer sign the proposal and do not accept payment until the project is completed CertaPro Painters warranties their work for two years to ensure the customer is satisfied.
In the day and age of Covid, there has been what Jamrog believes is a pent-up demand that has been having a positive impact on their business. “However, there is a negative impact as well: with Covid, there has been a significant fear and uncertainty created and as a result, this has had an impact on how we deal with our customers,” he explains. “We try to provide a sense of normalcy and routine into their schedules in this ongoing environment of uncertainty.”
He and his wife, Kim and are firm believers in “paying it forward.” “I have been blessed throughout my career to have had mentors and people that have helped me succeed therefore we believe it our responsibility and mission to help our team members succeed and grow in their respective roles and responsibilities,” he fondly says. When he isn’t helping folks create the homes of their dreams, he enjoys golfing and landscaping his own property!
