“Be still and the world is bound to turn itself inside out to entertain you.”
– Barbara Kingsolver
Such is Magnatta’s artist statement as well as a reflection of the conceptual foundation and subject matter of her diverse body of oil paintings on canvas. She explores her world, from the old coke machines on a side street in Sicily to Soho, NYC to country vistas and marshlands and florals, with an ever fresh set of eyes, forever seeking to uncover their inherent mystery.
Magnatta received her Bachelor of Fine Arts from Montclair State College and has pursued her painting ever since, showing her work since the middle 1990s throughout New Jersey and Pennsylvania, in numerous juried shows, both solo and group. Further, she was juried into the Sangalla Forte Show in Castellana, Italy in 2013, The Allied Artists of America National Arts Club Show of NYC in 2013 as well as the Audobon Artists Show from 2011-2013.
Magnatta is a multiple award winning artist, including the coveted Best Oil Painting Award from The American Artist Professional League in 2004. Giving back to her beloved world of art, Magnatta has co-chaired multiple fundraising events for the Hunterdon Museum of Art.
