Jamie Basile discovered her passion for painting and fine arts when she was a little girl. After years of scribbling with crayons and painting in grade school, she decided to continue her art education at Kutztown University in PA. At Kutztown, Jamie is a Communication Design Major where she studies Graphic Design, Illustration and Web Design.
Although she loves the graphic arts, her true passion has always been painting. In the Fall of 2013, Jamie took a watercolor class and fell in love with the medium. She finds that she can capture her favorite moments and memories with watercolor, and hopes that those memories can be shared with others.
Her accomplishments include being published in the 2013 “Essence” Magazine, Kutztown University’s Fine Arts Magazine. She earned “Best Magazine Cover” at the Art Director’s Club of Philadelphia Louix Award, and was a finalist in the international “To Death With a Smile” Poster Contest run by Museo Mexicano del Diseno. In addition, in May of this year, she will have an exhibition of her watercolor work in the Kutztown University Student Union Building.
Jamie lives in Branchburg, and hopes to move to New York City and pursue her design career. Outside of the arts, she enjoys cooking, playing soccer, taking hikes and skiing.
