Creating is my passion. As an interior designer I learned the importance and subtleties of composition and color. As a doll maker, I learned the importance of proportion and the capriciousness of gesture. As an artist I realized the importance of putting my own stamp on my work by the special use of soft and hard edges and the passages of lights and darks.
I am inspired by so many artists, among them, Vermeer, Sargent, Sarolla, Chase, Degas and Cassatt. My style is a relaxed mixture of realism and impressionism. I work as a portrait artist and also create figurative and still life paintings that are gentle and colorful. I am often told by my clients that my work makes them feel happy. That, in my estimation, is the ultimate compliment and pretty much the point of why I do what I do!
I have two beautiful daughters, a wonderful husband and two artistic cats. I draw and paint from my studio in Millington, New Jersey.
