Carol is presently a resident of Oldwick, New Jersey. A native of Michigan, she has also lived in Belgium, Hong Kong and Louisiana. Her education includes study at the University of Michigan, University of Hong Kong and Louisiana State University. She received her BFA in Studio Art, summa cum laude, from Kean University. Additionally, she studied with artists in Brussels, Hong Kong and with Judi Betts, Christina Debarry, Paul McCormick, Elizabeth Mowry and Daniel Greene in the States.
In the past, Carol has taught art classes for adults and high school students in Brussels and New Jersey. Besides teaching, she has done graphic work for publications of the Catholic Diocese of Metuchen and the College of St. Elizabeth.
Carol is a Signature Member of the Pastel Society of New Jersey and serves on its Board as Recording Secretary. She is also a member of the Center for Contemporary Art, the New Jersey Center for Visual Arts and the Plein Aire Society of New Jersey.
Participation in exhibitions has included solo shows in Brussels, Belgium, Bernardsville and New Brunswick, NJ, numerous juried group shows at the Visions Gallery, in Albany, NY, Somerset Art Association, Tewksbury Historical Society, St. John-on-the-Mountain Church, New Jersey Center for Visual Arts, Guild of Creative Art in NJ, Connecticut Pastel Society and the Pastel Society of New Jersey.
Carol has received several awards for her work – most noteworthy are: Best in Landscape at the Pastel Society of NJ juried show October 2011, Best in Show, for a portrait at the Somerset Art Association’s 2005 juried show and the Pastel of America Landscape Award in 2009 given at a pastel juried show of the Guild of Creative Art in Shrewsbury, NJ; also Merit Awards: the Art Space Studio Award for Landscape and the President’s Award from the Pastel Society of New Jersey in 2009 and 2010. Also, her artwork was published in Ministry and Liturgy magazine and included in the Archives of Contemporary Religious Art.
Carol is represented by Studio 7 Fine Art Gallery in Bernardsville.
