Diana Patton has been painting, exhibiting, and teaching watercolor for over 30 years. She paints what is around her, whether it be flowers, veggies, and the goldfish in her ponds and garden, or more exotic fishes and fauna seen in her travels, especially to Maui, France (she had special permission to paint in Monet’s gardens in Giverny in 1989 and 1991), Tanzania, Australia, and Japan. But she is just as happy studying tidal pools in Maine or Maui.
The recipient of over 135 awards, including five Grumbacher medals, Diana is a member of the Garden State Watercolor Society, the NJWCS, the Raritan Valley Arts Association, and the American Artists Professional League among others, and she is included in Who’s Who in America. Diana teaches watercolor for the Jointure in Bridgewater and in her home.
For the last few years she has been working on learning the craft of writing and illustrating picture books. She’s an active member of the Society for Children’s Book Writers & Illustrators and the Hunterdon County Children’s Writers & Illustrators Group. Her picture book Charlemagne to the Rescue is out and she is now involved in trying to find publishers for her newest creations. “My characters often come to me in the night, cavorting before my eyes when sleep fails me. They demand to have their stories told.”
Blurbs for some of these can be found on her website www.dianapatton.com. Diana enjoys storytelling and working with children to create their own stories. You can find games (and aquarium reviews!) on her website www.charlemagnethefish.com.
A mother of three sons, Diana lives in Bridgewater and her husband Gard is her webmaster!
