Born in Estonia, Pustrom-Uus has literally traveled the western world for more than seventy years developing her painting skills. Technically trained at both The Pallas School of Fine Arts in Tartu, Estonia as well as The Art Academy of Dusseldorf, Germany, her international view is inherent in her exacting works.
While realistic in style, her original oil paintings often lend a dreamy quality to the subject matter. A multi-award winner, multi-lingual, dynamic woman, Pustrom-Uss is best known for her landscapes, florals and still life compositions. Nonetheless, it was her Rockport, Massa-chusetts studies with both Ballinger and Chetcuti in sea-scapes that most inspired Estonian President, Toomas Hendrik Ilves to select “Shore- line Near Tallin” for his private art collection.
Pustrom-Uus has been invited to show repeatedly in her native Estonia; they recently sent a biographer to the United States for a documentary Leading Artists of Estonian Descent from Around the World.
