“Sydney Seltzer is a Senior at Watchung Hills High School.
In addition to the advanced fine arts, photography and fashion design classes she takes at Watchung Hills, Sydney has been studying at the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York City since her Freshman year. Her studies there have included fashion drawing, model and anatomy drawing, pattern making, sewing and interior space design.
Her artwork recently won an “Honorable Mention” in the Pencil/Charcoal Category at the DuCret School of Art’s 29th Annual High School Student Art Show. Sydney loves to use the mediums of pencil, acrylic and gouache. Her cover design entitled “Step into Spring” is drawn in colored pencil and is inspired by her love of fashion. She plans to study fashion design and has just been accepted into Parson’s School of Design in New York City.
When not drawing, Sydney can be found working at Earth Paint & Fire in Warren. She has previously worked as an art counselor at Jefferson Lakes Day Camp and will return there this summer as a pottery instructor. Sydney lives at home in Warren and is looking forward to beginning her college career in September.
