
 White Italianate HouseÂ
Inspiration:Â “My trip to New Orleans inspired this piece. Walking around the streets of uptown, I was able to admire a lot of the Greek revival and Italianate style architecture many of the houses in the area are built with. These foreign architectural styles can be found on streets lined with Southern Live Oak trees and other native plant life, so I knew I wanted to incorporate a lot of greenery in my painting. I took photos of a lot of structures I thought were pretty and used those as my reference pictures. “
Bio: A senior at Watchung Hills Regional High School, Maddie Archbold has maintained a deep interest in and love for art throughout her life At a very young age Maddie began taking art classes both in and outside of school, which helped her to develop her skills and style. Maddie’s favorite mediums are watercolor, oil paint and colored pencils. She prefers to work realistically. She shares her talents for and appreciation of art with her school community as an active member of the WHRHS chapter of the National Art Honors Society. Outside of school, Maddie also sells custom art commissions through her personal Facebook page.
