Robin Fand, the featured cover artist in this issue, was the founder and visionary behind The Connection Magazines. With a combination of an MBA in marketing, a keen business sense, and a family history of successful publishing ventures, Robin began in 2004 with a single magazine in Warren and Watchung. Over time, The Connection Magazines flourished as a labor of love, growing into three publications in the region, reaching nearly 100,000 readers in combined circulation. These magazines have become valued resources for many and reflect Robin’s deep commitment to promoting the local businesses and her love for the communities the publications serve. Her warmth and generosity of spirit embody the guiding principles of each issue: to foster and promote local entrepreneurs and business owners as well as to provide relevant and interesting material to the readers. Art became a passion and source of pleasure for Robin in the latter part of her life. As she gained experience through instruction in multiple classes to refine her natural talents, she took pride in working in a variety of different mediums. The vibrant colors she chose in her subject matter revealed her essence—a shining star with an inner beauty that matched her outer being.
