The Connections Bernards Ridge Edition Sept 2020

theconnectionsnj.com HEALTH & WELLNESS PAGE 24 Dear Friends, I learned a long time ago that there is so much more to organization than meets the eye. For example, organization teaches us how to let go of old patterns, habits, and limiting beliefs that no longer serve us, so we may move into a healthier space in our life. If I had to sum up my organization philosophy, it would be that it is a healthy practice to main- tain joy and peace within our lives. The interesting thing about organization is that it is widely misunderstood. Most people underestimate the benefits that organiza- tion can bring into their life or simply do not understand the structure of organization. Because I believe in the power of or- ganization, I would like to pass along the framework behind its success. • The Language Of Organizing: Orga- nization not only has its own language but it has a specific order to it as well. If not properly understood and fol- lowed, it can present challenges when undertaking organizational tasks. To be successful in organization the lan- guage must be realized. You can learn the language with my book: A Simple Guide to an Organized Life available on Amazon. • The 3 Basic Learning Styles: Know- ing how to blend your learning style with organization is the backbone to developing strong skills. Without it, you work against your nat- ural flow of learning and work harder not smarter. Do you know what type of learner you are - visual, auditory, kinesthetic, or a combination? • The Less Is More Theory: The concept of 'less is more' is based on the value of simplicity - that by having less, you can actually create a life of more. Adopting this approach allows you to get back to the basics of life and focus on what real- ly matters. • The Power of Follow Through: When- ever we say we will "do something” and we don't, we break our promise, which then leads us to trust ourselves less. This is one of the reasons why a cycle of clut- ter exists. On the flip side, when we make good on our word, we feel empowered and more motivated. Follow-through can be a catalyst for personal growth and de- veloping better habits. • The 3 Golden Rules: There are three rules in the world of organization that if used in a consistent manner can help streamline the organizational process. The beauty of these rules is that they are also life-guiding principles. The 3 Golden Rules: Everything Needs A Home. Keep Like With Like. Dedicate 20 Minutes Per Day To A Task.
