The Connections Bernards Ridge Edition Sep/Oct/Nov 2021
theconnectionsnj.com PAGE 20 CELEBRATIONS & EVENTS Kristine’s Hair Studio in Bedminster Township recently cut more than just hair – we held a ribbon-cutting ceremony on June 24th to celebrate the studio’s expansion. Clients, friends & family were in attendance. Bedminster Mayor Lawrence Jacobs was on hand to assist with the ribbon-cutting. The weather was fantastic, everyone had a won- derful day. There was a reception afterward, which provided me the opportunity to thank everyone for their trust and support. The main reason I decided to expand is because I have clients that have dif culty climbing the stairs and other physical disabil- ities that are now able to come to the salon without any concerns. Our bathroom is hand- icap accessible. It was very important to me to provide themwith the services so that they can get out of the house. With the added ca- pacity, enhanced spaciousness, and a choice of entrances, the interior is more welcoming than before, providing greater pedestrian and wheelchair access. The original studio was about 800 square feet. After the expansion, the new space is 2,000 square feet. There are now nine haircut- ting stations, as opposed to four. Clients with COVID concerns can now feel comfortable entering the new space. We can offer them a private entrance or even a private oor- they can come and still have all the services done. Kristine’s rst opened in August 2019 but was shut down in March 2020 because of the pandemic. The expansion started in October 2020 and was completed in May. Expansion during the pandemic was a huge challenge, from supply chains and con- tractors showing up. It was just unbelievable. We just had to take things one step at a time; we were patient and we just kept searching for the right supplies. My father, John Schuler owner of Schuler Construction, was in charge of the expansion job and when contractors didn’t show up, he put his tool belt on, and he did the work himself. Mayor Jacobs commended us for not giv- ing up in the face of the pandemic. “Let’s not forget that Kristine moved forward with the sa- lon expansion during the pandemic,” Jacobs said. “She stayed committed to the project through the hard times, and now adds this beautiful establishment to Pluckemin Village and the Bedminster community. I am proud of her ‘can do’ approach not only as a local busi- nesswoman but also as a Bedminster resident. Congratulations Kristine on a job well done! We wish you years of success in this location.” Kristine’s is a full-service hair salon, which offers haircuts, keratin treatments, blow-outs, color, highlights, and special oc- casion updos, utilizing high-end eco-con- scious Kevin Murphy products.
