Tyvan Hill, as this residence and gardens are known, will be the site of the 19th Mansion in May Designer Showhouse and Gardens. Chosen by the Women's Association for Morristown Medical Center (WAMMC) for its signature fundraiser, Tyvan Hill will be open to the public daily from May 1-31 at 10am, with the last ticket sold at 3pm. More than 50 interior designers and landscape architects will transform this gracious U-shaped, stone and brick, tile-roofed resi- dence and its 12,000 square feet of outdoor garden space into its former glorious state for visitors to enjoy. The house is in an eclectic style featuring many elements of Norman-French architecture. Tyvan Hill was designed by the New York architectural firm of Peabody, Wil- son & Brown, one of the preemi- nent and prolific designers of large country residences. Visitors to Tyvan Hill will have the opportunity to tour the mansion and view original interior fea- tures, from an elegant curved staircase and paneling to elegant moldings, while experiencing the interior designers’ unique trans- formations in their specific spaces. A tour of the gardens will provide visitors with the pleasure of spending time among beauti- fully landscaped outdoor spaces filled with flowering plants, water features, relaxing seating, dra- matic sculpture and inspiring art- work. The grounds at Tyvan Hill are open to the public at no charge, and visitors can purchase a ticket on site to tour the interior of the mansion. Guests will be able to tour the house, the extensive gardens and the pool area with its charming Pool House, individually or on a private guided tour. The "Bou- tiques at Tyvan Hill" and the “Café on the Hill” will enhance their visit, while supporting a worthwhile cause. Funds raised at this year’s Man- sion in May will contribute to the expansion of the Gagnon Cardio- vascular Institute at Morristown Medical Center. As a nationally- ranked regional medical center and a recognized leader in cardio- vascular medicine, this expansion will enable the facility to handle an estimated 10% of the project- ed new patient volume under the same roof, improving safety, effi- ciency and work flow.
