The Connections Bridgewater-Somerville Edition Apr/May 2024

THE BRIDGEWATER-SOMERVILLE CONNECTION PAGE 10 APRIL/MAY 2024 theconnectionsnj.com At nourish.NJ, a Morris County-based non-profit, the heart of our work is conveyed with a promise; we will be there to support anyone who comes to us in need, 365 days a year. We provide this support by offering food, housing, health, and financial stability programs in a warm, safe environment– free of charge, no questions asked. Recognizing that hunger can be a significant barrier to well-being, our goal is to provide immediate relief. We then seek to engage with our clients through compassionate listening and dialogue to understand and help address the root causes of their food insecurity. Creating lasting solutions to hunger, homelessness, and poverty is no easy feat, but we’ve managed to keep our promise for nearly 40 years thanks to the support of compassionate volunteers, donors, and community partners in Morris County and beyond. Currently, a staggering increase in local hunger is making it more difficult than ever for us to ensure that fresh meals are available for all who need them. A record-breaking number of neighbors, especially families with children, depend on nourish.NJ for food access. The demand has increased to 1,000+ meals each day. We are determined to meet this challenge, and with the help of caring New Jersey residents, we know that we can. That’s why we are excited to announce our upcoming Golf Outing– an opportunity to make a meaningful difference while enjoying some friendly competition on the course. Whether a seasoned pro or a first-timer without experience, we invite change-makers from around NJ to join us in helping ensure that every neighbor has access to fresh and healthy food. Participants can register as an individual or as a foursome at www.nourishnj.org. On Thursday, July 18th, participants will gather at the Knoll Country Club/ West in Boonton, NJ for a round of golf that gives back to the community, the format of which will be best ball. Registration and a luncheon reception will take place prior to tee-time at 1PM. In addition to the luncheon, each foursome will receive access to their own golf cart, refreshments throughout the course, a banquet-style awards dinner, and a gift bag. Whether you prefer to register as an individual or with a foursome, we hope that you’ll grab your favorite clubs and join us this summer to help ensure that fresh meals are available for all who need them.
