About 2 years ago, after moving from their home in Somerville to Raritan, NJ, Candyland Crafts renewed their efforts to teach and host cake deco- rating and chocolate making events. Since this move, Candyland has had over 1,000 happy “cake connoisseurs” come through their classes and parties. “ Candyland has always provided guid- ance for home and semi-professional bak- ers and chocolate makers on how to use our products to complete their creations” said owner Barry Krinsky. “Our customers were constantly telling us how much they appreciated our consults but wanted the full hands-on experience of learning”. “The wide variety of cake decorating shows, Cake Wars, etc., further fueled our customers’ desires." Responding to this outcry, Candyland Crafts developed a staff of highly experi- enced instructors including graduates of the Culinary Institute of America, other Culinary Schools and award winning pro- fessional cake decorations. Today their amazing staff provides a variety of classes for beginners to advanced cake decorators and chocolate making enthusiasts. Classes are either instructional such as Basic Buttercream Flowers, Cake Piping 101 or project based - Christmas Reindeer and Santa Cookies for instance. All classes are designed to give the novice confidence and skills to create “masterpieces” they never thought possible or for the more advanced participants, to take their skills to a new level. Whether instructional or project- based, novice or skilled artisan, all students get hands-on instructions in a fun, “no judgement,” atmosphere. “It is amazing to see the progress that our cake and candy making “students” are able to achieve in just one session. It is especially gratifying to see students who came to a class with little confidence and low expectations beam with pride at the high level of designs they have created.” Birthday Parties are also hosted by Candyland Crafts . A typical birthday party consists of chocolate lollipop making fol- lowed by cupcake creations and concluding with each of the kids participating in deco- rating the final birthday cake. Kids not only have fun but learn valuable skills that can be used for making holiday, birthday or special event desserts. All supplies are pro- vided by Candyland Crafts . Adult Parties, Adults Night Out, Funding Events and Corporate bonding events are also hosted by Candyland Crafts . Events are conducted both on-site and offsite with all supplies provided by Candyland Crafts . Candyland has also conducted classes at Senior Centers and Day Schools and is especially gratified by teaching at a Special Needs Center with over 50 participants.
