Our talented writers have given us unique insight into these businesses and their respective owners. Local artist, Paul Bachem , adorns our front cover with an oil on panel entitled, “Crane Farm . ” Paul specializes in plein air landscape paintings. After a long career as a freelance illustrator, Paul now de- votes his time to painting landscapes and seascapes from nature. His oil paintings and limited edition Gi- clee prints are in numerous private collections both in the United States and worldwide. About this cover piece he states, “My inspiration for any landscape work that I do is always the quality of the light and fighting to get the light just right is one of the chal- lenges for the plein air painter. Light moves and changes so quickly that the artist has to be really ‘di- aled in’ to what’s going on in front of him or her. In a half hour conditions can change dramatically so it is part of the discipline for the on site painter to stay focused and work quickly. For me, it is all about cap- turing the moment.” Please read Paul’s impressive bio on page 8. We encourage you to view our ONLINE RECIPE BOOK this Summer Season!
