Highlighted from our business/professional com- munity this issue are: Shake A Paw-SPCRA, Wine Central’s 10 Below, Bella Fina Medi Spa and Fel- lowship Senior Living. Our talented writers have given us unique insight into these businesses and their respective owners. Local artist, Christina Debarry, adorns our front cover with a pastel entitled “Mixed Bouquet.” She states, “I have always had a strong love for painting and for my garden. Nature in all its forms has been an inspiration for my artwork… my florals, gardens, paths and landscapes. Flowers growing in my garden or simply displayed on the table have been one of my favorite subjects. I take pleasure in their lively col- ors, textures and the effects that light and lack of it create on the subject. Working from fresh flowers I feel the glory and magic of the moment. Such mo- ments last only for a while because the subject is fragile and tends to change as time ticks away. I therefore work fast and intensely to capture the complex image as simply as possible. Painting all my darks first and then adding the middle and light col- ors at the end. I paint and teach pastel, oil and wa- tercolors...Pastel is my favorite medium...the pastel stick becomes an extension of my hand while paint- ing...in a way I become one with the painting.” Please read Christina’s impressive bio on page 8.
