Morgan Sena Makeup Artistry. Professional makeup artist Morgan Sena provides personalized makeup applications and tutorials to clients looking to enhance their look, try something new, or pull off a stunning edgy look. She also does costume special effects. Morgan first became interested in makeup artistry while training as a dancer in middle and high school. Dancers often wear stage makeup to help their facial features stand out while performing and competing. Morgan loved this aspect of dance performance. She started playing with makeup more and more and began doing makeup as a freelance artist. Her focus was helping girls do their makeup for formal events like proms so they could look and feel their best. After high school, Morgan received a degree in sociology from Fordham University in New York, but her heart led her in a different direction professionally. “I felt called to do makeup artistry,” she says. So, Morgan started a new course of study after college: the Master Make-up Artistry Program at Makeup Designory in New York City. This six-month program helped Morgan refine her skills in all aspects of makeup artistry, including bridal, special effects, film, television, and fashion. She also learned to create the perfect looks for professional photoshoots and headshots. One unique aspect of her training was working in a laboratory to create small and large prosthetics for special looks, which comes in handy when clients want unique looks such as wounds, scars, and special features for Halloween or cosplay. “The program solidified my desire to become a makeup artist,” says Morgan. Since her training ended, Morgan has been working with clients to achieve their desired look for weddings, proms, special events, photoshoots, and more. She can also accommodate groups such as bridal parties and travel to clients throughout the tri-state area. Morgan recommends new clients schedule an in-person consultation before their big day so she understands the look they’re going for and where clients will be photographed (such as indoors or outside in natural lighting). “I want to understand all their preferences such as what kind of foundation they like or how toned down or dramatic they want their eye makeup to be,” she explains. “We do a trial look and take our time walking step-by-step through each area so I achieve their desired look.” Morgan is careful to load her kit with makeup that works for people with allergies and sensitivities, and she uses special setting products to ensure the makeup applications last throughout an event. Bookings at least 60 days before an event are recommended. Morgan also loves working on tutorials for clients looking for tips and tricks for their beauty regimen. She can offer both product recommendations and application advice. “It’s fun to help people. I enjoy assessing their skin type and making skincare and makeup recommendations. It builds a connection between the client and me.” To learn more about Morgan Sena Morgan Sena Makeup Artistry and see Morgan’s portfolio of beauty, fashion, and character makeup applications, visit MorganSenaMUA.com.
