The freedom of creating something new, to see it evolve, and making it into something beautiful is a passion for me. My focus is creating art while working with color, pattern and textures that are exciting. It is my hope that my art makes you as happy as I feel when I design! I started my career as a full scholarship winner and graduate of AIFL with a Best Portfolio award in fashion illustration and studied art at the Parsons School of Design and the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York City. Freelancing for over 17 years, I specialize in painting portraits, fashion illustration, product illustration, along with corporate branding, designing perfume bottles, handbags, and scarves. My experience includes freelancing for New York’s garment center, corporate in-house department stores, fashion designers, pattern book illustration and corporate cosmetic companies, some of my clients include Karl Lagerfeld, Ralph Lauren, Elizabeth Arden, Estée Lauder, Revlon, Macy’s, Simplicity and McCall’s Patterns, Steiner Sports along with various fashion designers and book deals. The very best way to keep up with new art is to follow me on Instagram @theartofivey or on Facebook. Our Unwrap Joy & Shop Small business listing is here to connect you with local merchants who can make your holiday shopping truly special. Gift cards to these local spots make wonderful holiday presents, too! Speaking of wine, please don’t plan your Thanksgiving meal without reading What About Wine, by Bill Goetz of Vine Republic. He provides general rules when serving reds, whites and sparkling wines with the big bird. Bill has got you covered when it comes to pairing wine with this festive meal. Once again, Joanne Kleinle has scoped out the perfect way to spend the day celebrating the holiday season with your family. Lights, lights, lights! Read the Family Adventures column to discover where you can view a spectacular display of holiday lighting, whether you choose to visit Essex County here in NJ, Brooklyn, NY or Berks County, PA. These seasonal light extravaganzas will illuminate you with joy! Our gorgeous cover is an acrylic on canvas painting entitled, FANCIFUL. It was painted by Ivey Kampouris. We love the way her blue eyes pop among the surrounding pink and peach colors within the composition. Ivey’s inspiration for this fashion illustration was “to make a statement in a chic, editorial style.” May this festive season bring you great peace and joy! The Connection Magazines wish you a warm and wonderful holiday. With gratitude, Anna Petro A Note From Our Publisher...
