Everyone is either in one category or the other, and it’s not good, especial- ly when they are married. Trust me, I know this for a fact, my wife saves everything and I throw them out. But, I throw things out when things are broken or no longer used. When I go to pur- chase something, the first thing I look at is quality, then I might look at cheaper options and weigh the difference. The genera- tion of today is buying things to be thrown away. This generation does not look at something before they purchase it, and say “This is made well, the quality is excellent.” They say “This is cheap, I’ll get a couple years out of it and then throw it away and get another one.” We see this going on in the jewel- ry industry. We see jewelry that should be considered fine jewelry, it looks good to the average per- son, but when you examine it closely, the workmanship is highly inferior, not to mention the poor quality stones being put into it. There are so many different rea- sons or needs that people wear jewelry. Mostly women wear jew- elry to accessorize, compliment an outfit or just to feel great. It can make a statement or show wealth and power. Women should open their jewelry box and be able to find a few important items. The brilliant diamond ear- rings, the cocktail ring that has been passed down from a loved one, a diamond bracelet, a classic pearl necklace, a beautiful gold chain. There is a place for fashion, fun, inexpensive jewelry, but when looking to invest in the perfect piece of “fine jewelry,” it should be finely crafted. The diamonds and colored stones should be Gem quality. They should be hand set by a master craftsman. Fine jewelry should NEVER be a dispos- able item. It should be loved and cherished both for its value and artistry. Custom Jewelry is an important part of our business. Nancy takes such great joy in designing what will become an heirloom for gen- erations to come. The final prod- uct will be a collaboration of emo- tion, quality and individual style.
