We usually take more hot baths which ends up removing the natural oils from the scalp. The natu- ral oils found in the hair act as pro- tectors and lubricators for the strands. Without this beneficial oil, the hair can be left dry and brittle, and with split ends. In some cases, the body wants to replace this absence of oils leaving the hair with that greasy look. Just like in summer, hair needs special attention in winter. The top tips for hair care in winter are very simple, check them out. MOISTURIZING Make sure to choose a good mois- turizing shampoo and conditioner suitable for your hair type. This is the best option to keep healthy hair in the winter. First, you need to do a deep cleaning of the strands and remove all impuri- ties. Then choose a deep conditioner or a mask for your type of hair. The hydration should be repeated weekly. WARM WATER Hot water is your hair’s enemy in the winter. It dehydrates the strands, increases the shearing of the hair, and causes the scalp to be scaly, which can be mistaken for dandruff. So avoid hot water on the strands, always use warm water. OILINESS It is natural for hair to become oilier in the winter. So, opt for lighter condi- tioners. To untangle the strands, use products like leave-in conditioner. BLOW DRYER The use of the dryer should be done properly because the hot air against the hair strands causes the hair to weaken. Avoid this by applying a thermal shield or repairer of tips to protect the strands before drying your hair. DON’T SLEEP WITH WET HAIR It is not recommended to sleep with wet hair. The hair tends to stay humid, and becomes weak and brit- tle. Avoid wearing hats in excess because it can increase even more oiliness of the hair. When washing your hair, massage the scalp gently and thoroughly. This way, the circulation and oxygenation are active and accelerate the hair growth. Our goal as professional stylists is to educate our guests. We strive to encourage proper tools and products for optimum results in between salon visits.
