Our talented writers have given us unique insight into these businesses and their respective owners. Local artist, Andrea Giordano, adorns our cover with an oil on canvas entitled, “Butterfly with Purple Flowers.” She states,” The inspiration for the butterfly painting is similar to all of my paintings in that I’m a biologist and I observe nature closely. All living things intrigue me whether they be plants, animals or insects. The closer you look, the more you see. I’ve studied a wide array of creatures both in the lab and in their natural environments. They are all truly amazing. As an artist, I paint what I call “The Art of Life” which to me, means capturing a glimpse of their living essence on the canvas. Much can be learned from nature, if we have the patience to look carefully at it. Nature is incredibly complex and if we take a step back to appreciate it, then we find it holds hidden wisdom… I believe butterflies teach us three significant things about life… That Life Involves Change, that Life is Intensely Beautiful and lastly, they also remind us that there is Brevity to Life.” Please read Andrea’s bio on page 8.
