Born and raised in New Jersey, she frequents parks and coastal regions, in and out of state, to observe and photograph nature for artistic inspi- ration. As a young student, Andrea managed to achieve a balance between art and science by taking art electives throughout her educa- tion. It was not until years later, after teaching science in graduate school, working in the pharmaceu- tical industry and eventually chang- ing course to stay home and raise her children, that Andrea truly culti- vated her painting skills. She began by working independently at home in acrylic and later studied oil paint- ing under the tutelage of her friend and fellow artist, Andrea Gianchiglia. Today, Andrea paints in both oil and acrylic media. Her works range from butterflies, to marine life (including turtles, sharks, penguins and fossils), to botanicals as well as landscapes.
