But before we know it, September will be right around the cor- ner and school will be back in session! Preparing for back to school is more than just buying school supplies and a new wardrobe. A fresh haircut can really go a long way in providing con- fidence for your young student to dive straight back into days full of classes and making new friends with classmates. And giving your teen products such as Amika Dry Shampoo or Oribe Creme for Style is an easy way to introduce them to light grooming and maintenance to keep that cut looking great! Along with the haircut, during the start of the school year and the change of weather, teens and college students especially should consider incorporating proper skincare into their routine. Scheduling a facial at the end of August and right before the avalanche of homework and exams can help with any pending break outs that come with stress. And starting with simple products such as Babor Enzyme Cleanser and a daily moisturizer can really go a long way in keeping healthy skin without taking up too much of their study time. This is especially recommended for young ladies starting to use make-up, where products can have negative effects if they’re choosing the wrong products for their skin type or if make-up isn’t removed properly. Facials are particularly helpful for teens dealing with acne. Acne has a number of causes and factors that affect its severity, from stress to genetics, but a majority of teens bat- tle with acne in some form or anoth- er. Having a facial once or twice per month can keep pores unclogged and skin cleansed to prevent break- outs. We highly recommend the Babor Gel and Tonic, as well as the Babor Pure Moisturizing Cream and Mask. Facials can help clear the skin and be more receptive to products, bringing better results and making every drop of product really count. Lastly, coming in with your son or daughter is a fun way to spend qual- ity time with your child before they head back to school! Booking a man- icure and pedicure together or even coming in for two blow-outs is a per- fect mother/daughter date! Or help your son pick out a new look with his hair cut. Even just stopping in to help your teen navigate through the unknown world of skincare can be a great way for both of you to learn! Skin Deep Salon and Spa provides all of these products and services and much more. Call (908) 508-1800 to book an appointment or for more information. PAGE 80
