There are peacocks everywhere. “Peacocking” has become a popular menswear term that boils down to trying too hard. Fashion bloggers and influencers have become mainstream, but their fashion sense has not. Fashion is seemingly in their hands, producing reviews and opinions without any regard for what everyday men actually wear. Their only goal is to sell a product a company paid them to promote.
At Adams Fine Clothing, we take pride in our ability to help men stay up to date with their sartorial needs while keeping them grounded in timeless looks. Our in-store shopping experience gives us a unique advantage over online shopping. Our clients get a full education on their purchase and can see, touch, and try everything on with the help of an experienced consultant creating a more informed buying process. Each of our clients is unique, so their style should be unique as well.
Lighten Up!
Spring is always the best time to bust out those lighter colors. From your suits to your polo shirts, embrace the lighter colors and soak up that sunshine.
Suiting Up: Not So Seriously
Wearing a suit doesn’t have to be a pain or something you’re forced to do. Every year the suit gets easier to wear for guys, with unconstructed jackets (no heavy interior canvas) still reigning supreme. Color-wise, we always like to lighten up as well. Medium blue and grey are always the most popular, but this Spring you’ll also see some earth tones as well in shades of brown, olive, and sage.
Polos: Not Just for Golf
Polos are your best friend this spring. Why? Because you can wear it with ANYTHING. Suit? Check. Jeans? Check, Shorts? Check. Material-wise, we love lightweight cotton, performance blends, and even dressier linens and silks. Start with a neutral color and you’ll be shocked at how much they go with.
Pants: Get Dusty
Gone are the days of “go to hell” pants. This season we’re focusing on what we call “The Dustys” in soft colors. Shades of lavender, orange, and baby blue make a great versatile pair of pants that don’t scream “Look at me.”
Dress Shirts: Perfect in Pastels
Looking into your closet I bet you have a lot of blue and white shirts, nothing wrong with that. But this season give your outfit a springtime lift with a pastel pink or lilac. Want to subtly stand out this wedding season? Throw on a pastel shirt with your suit and try to keep track of all the compliments you’ll get.
Lavender and Sage: Calming Candles or Seasonal Sportcoats?
Lavender and sage have always been important spring colors. But this year they’ve taken center stage as your new favorite sport coat. We find they work best when they’re the
lead singer of your look. This boils down to keeping your shirts and trousers neutral and letting these beautiful colors do what they do best.
