On your drive home from work, you hear a strange noise coming from the hood of your car. “Oh, no”, you think. “I have to get that taken care of right away”, and promptly call a mechanic as soon as you arrive home. Good decision, as you don’t want to get stuck somewhere and want to operate a safe vehicle. If only we made the same good choices when we experience pain in our body. Prolonged pain is an abnormal condition with numerous consequences. It is letting you know that something is wrong in our body and needs you to respond with some help. But all too often we put off taking care of ourselves not knowing that the real cure for pain management is to strengthen the area that is weakened, use the state of the art technology available, quality products, and learn the corrective exercises toward feeling better. We must remember that when we take care of ourselves, we are taking care of our whole family.

One of the unique treatments we specialize in is Myofascial Release (MFR), a highly specialized stretching technique that is safe and quite effective. The hands on approach requires a wide range of MFR techniques and movement therapies requiring gentle sustained pressure into the Myofascial connective tissue restrictions, relieving tension, eliminating pain, and restoring motion. My patients have found MFR to be an enormous help in their recovery. At Good Hands we assess the body for myofascial restrictions. MFR is also beneficial for dental injuries such as Temporomandibular joint pain (TMJ) and all chronic pain (years of pain).
Beginning at age 30, most of us lose about 1 percent of muscle each year. The loss of muscle, often causes weight gain and more injuries than we are used to. Although we can’t stop the aging process, we can do a lot to take care of ourselves. The real fountain of youth is learning the tools of preventative maintenance giving you pain free life with good endurance, strength and stamina.
In my 23 years of experience in working as a physical therapist for world class hospitals within New York and New Jersey and professionally managing numerous cases, I have been gifted with the opportunity to see the enormous benefits of just how powerful physical therapy is to change lives. My quest to continue learning, and to be able to bring more knowledge and resources to my patients has led me to participate in innovative seminars and workshops enabling me to see the advantages of mulligan mobilization techniques, Kinesio Taping and many more.
