Dizziness and Vertigo is a challenging condition to relate to if it doesn’t affect you, but those affected may experience a significant, if not complete, disruption of their normal life. Severe dizziness and vertigo make getting out of bed a colossal task. Many patients lose the ability or confidence to drive safely. The list can go on, but I need not enumerate the realities of life with dizziness & vertigo – if you know, you know. And for that reason, I’ll spare a lengthy discussion about the known and unknown causes of dizziness & vertigo and jump right to the information you might be looking for… possible relief. Try seeing a National Upper Cervical Chiropractic Associate (NUCCA) provider, aka a “NUCCA Doctor.”
I have met with many patients seeking care in our office specifically for managing these symptoms and I have heard how NUCCA care has given them their life back. Based on their stories, it’s my opinion that NUCCA care is the missing key for many patients. It’s not a magic bullet – nothing ever is and I would recommend getting a second opinion if any provider tells you otherwise for something as vaguely complex as vertigo. However, NUCCA has proved itself to be an excellent management option all around.
NUCCA care improves neurological function and blood flow to the brain, which can create significant improvement for dizziness and vertigo patients. For some, this care offers an excellent primary treatment for dizziness & vertigo. NUCCA care for those patients becomes the very thing that finally gives them control over their condition.
If you missed our previous articles, by now you’re probably asking yourself, “What the heck is NUCCA?” NUCCA is a subspecialty of chiropractic care. Unlike traditional chiropractic, however, NUCCA does not involve any twisting, cracking, or popping of a patient’s neck or back. Rather, NUCCA doctors use x-rays and biomechanical assessment to determine exact misalignments of the cervical vertebrae relative to your skull. They then calculate the exact force vectors (i.e. force magnitude and direction) needed to reposition the top vertebrae in your neck such that the weight of the skull is evenly balanced over the rest of your spine. When the force is calculated and precise, a light touch is all it takes to move things a few millimeters.
NUCCA care can help with a lot of things: sleep, headaches/migraines, pain, autonomic dysfunction, and much more… which makes it both an excellent primary and secondary treatment modality. Many patients seek out NUCCA care for a specific primary symptom that’s bothering them and find relief from multiple other lingering symptoms. We recently had a patient begin care for their dizziness, and his back pain dating back to the 1980s resolved as well!
Life with proper alignment is an excellent foundation for living a more symptom-free life. Have questions about starting NUCCA care? Give our office a call at (908)-955-8180 or schedule a complimentary initial consult online at www.VitalBrainandSpine.com.
