February 7, 2024Watchung Branch Hosts Women's Armed Services Photography Exhibit in Honor of Women’s History Month
The Somerset County Library System of New Jersey's (SCLSNJ) Watchung branch will be hosting an exhibit, curated by Virginia Hartmann, Lieutenant Colonel, USAFR (retired), highlighting the Special Collections of the United States Air Force Academy Library in honor of Women’s History Month.The exhibit, entitled “Preparing for Historic Change; Twelve Women Break Barriers at All-Male USAF Academy in 1976” will be on display at the branch throughout the months of February and March 2024.
An arts exhibit reception, hosted by The Friends of the Watchung Library, will be held on Wednesday, February 7 from 6-7:30 p.m.

February 13, 2024Feb. 13 - Speaker Anne Thornton, is a plumber and co-owner of MSI Plumbing & Remodeling Company. She has been involved as a guest speaker for the district's NJBUILD program, which aims to prepare incarcerated women at the Edna Mahan Correctional Facility in Clinton for work in the construction field. We are very pleased to have her as our program speaker, she will speak to us more about her Women's Leadership. She is also an author of several books; including "Anne Thornton's Insider Guide to Home Improvement.". Attendees will receive one of her signed books.

February 25, 2024Annual Music Faculty Recital to be Presented at RVCC
Raritan Valley Community College’s Arts & Design department will present the annual Music Faculty Recital, Sunday, February 25, at 2:30 p.m., in the Welpe Theatre at the College’s Branchburg campus.
The program will be coordinated by John Sichel, Professor of Music. Featured music faculty and teaching artists will include Anna Keiserman, piano; Abraham Alinea, piano; Oliver Santana, saxophone; John Sichel, piano; Robert Radliff, violin; Michael Eckhart, guitar; Justin Lee, bass; and Eldad Tarmu, vibraphone. Pianist Sharon Neissen will appear as a guest artist.
The program will include music by Victor Morosco, Franz Schubert, and Igor Shamo; original compositions by Professors Alinea, Sichel, Tarmu, and Eckhart; accompanied and ensemble pieces spanning a wonderful variety of musical styles; and jazz standards.
