THE BRIDGEWATER-SOMERVILLE CONNECTION PAGE 6 FEB/MARCH 2022 theconnectionsnj.com To All Our Readers, I wish you a happy new year full of new possibilities, personal growth, and most importantly, great health! The Connection Magazines has been proudly connecting the local merchants and our 80K print and over 50K regularly engaged online readers and, has emerged as the preferred choice for businesses to market their brands and for readers to look for everything related to LOCAL shopping, dining, and activities. Our COMMENDS articles highlight LOCAL businesses. In each issue, we feature some of their stories, their expertise, and their vision. We hope that as our valued readers you appreciate us spotlighting their hard work and the faces behind the businesses. In this new year, our promise to you is to consistently deliver LOCAL content that matters and our ask of you is that you support LOCAL businesses. As a community magazine, we are aware that shopping small has big implications. Here’s how! COMMUNITY GROWTH: When you shop local, you are pouring dollars back into your local community which leads to local prosperity. BOOST LOCAL JOBS GROWTH: Small businesses are more likely to hire local people. If their business thrives, they need more hands on deck. NETWORKING – MAKING MEANINGFUL CONNECTIONS: When you shop local you build relationships and directly interact with the business owner/s widening your own social and professional network. CUSTOMIZED SELECTION & PERSONALIZED SERVICE – A local business knows the shopping behavior of its clients and will go to great lengths to offer its services accordingly. Local artist Steve Zazenski ’s Winter Light graces the cover. Steve remarks, “I titled this painting Winter Light as that to me is the main focus and the thing most important to me. My usual inspiration when attempting a winter scene with snow is the wonderful interplay between the sunlit areas and the shadows that occur from trees and rocks etc. The shapes in the landscape also play their part in creating interesting combinations of light and shadow. This painting also benefits from the presence of the classic stone barn, which introduces some architectural elements that play off the natural forms in the landscape.” Check out his inspirational bio on page 8.
