Some of you will recognize me. I’m Tara from the former Wine Central’s 10 Below in Warren, where I was a wine buyer and manager for four years. I’m very excited to say I’m embarking on a new venture-opening Legacy Wine & Spirits Legacy Wine & Spirits with my brother Brook (the handsome guy pictured with his dog Beau.) Brook and I are the third generation of a long line of entrepreneurs. Together we’re looking forward to working alongside each other to continue our family legacy of entrepreneurship which began in the 1930’s. Our grandfather came to America from Germany in 1922 at nineteen years old. He was followed by his brother and other siblings. In the 1930s, they opened Pickwick Liquors and Pickwick Delicatessen on Park Ave. in Plainfield. Another of his siblings owned Robert Treat Delicatessen and Robert Treat Liquors in Westfield. Our grandfather then opened Echo Lanes and Lounge in 1950 in Mountainside. Later, our parents carried on the family entrepreneurial tradition by entering the liquor industry, followed by my- CONNECTION COMMENDS self and my brother, with five stores. I was a psychology major and had no plans to join the liquor business-other than to consume it. We plan, and yet life takes us elsewhere. I wore many hats as a wine buyer, manager, and owner, and consulted with other stores. My passion lies in finding staggering wines for the money, wines with soul, and then sharing them with you. Brook is a Craft Beer expert. He has extensive experience, having managed a high-volume store in Flemington for 4 years. He also worked for nearly 10 years with Hunterdon Brewing, which had the largest and most sought-after craft beer portfolio in the Tri-State area. Quickly, Brook became a highly respected top sales rep, managing a hundred accounts across Hunterdon and Somerset counties, until he took a promotion to Brand Manager. He’s kind, funny and you’ll always feel welcome in his presence. Brook has a special place in his heart for dogs, and his dogs have truly been his best friends. Legacy Wine & Spirits will be a fullscale store with recognizable brands and highly rated, organic, and sustainable wines. We intend to focus on education- offering classes, tastings, and so much more!! Continuing in the spirit of 10 Below, we’re looking forward to seeing old friends and making new ones. We feel that what sets us apart is our connection with all of you. We will strive to make the store a place where everyone knows your name...
