CAFÉ SAPORI RESTAURANT 12 Lackawanna Ave Gladstone, NJ 07934 908-375-8730 www.cafesaporinj.com By: Diane Cawley Mani Mavraj & Matt Gashi Café Sapori is an upscale Italian restaurant located on a quiet back- road in Gladstone. Café Sapori , a BYOB, has been called one of the top Italian restaurants in NJ. The atmos- phere is comfortable, clean and fresh with a modern welcoming vibe. When you visit Café Sapori husband and wife owners, Matt Gashi and Mani Mavraj welcome you in the true Albanian tradition of hospitality, with love in their hearts. Matt and Mani worked for Mani’s brother Benny Mavraj at the local favorite, Café Azzurro for several years before opening Café Sapori . Their experience has led them to understand how to combine atmos- phere, customer service, and deli- cious food creating a wonderful din- ing experience for their customers. Café Sapori’s relaxing atmos- phere sets the stage well for Matt and Mani’s pride and joy, the delicious food that they lovingly present to each customer. Café Sapori is appro- priately named with the Italian word, Sapori which translates to “flavors.” Chef Carlos prides himself on his interesting flavor combinations. Hav- ing worked at Rudolph’s for 10 years, Chef Carlos has come back to the very same location where he made his name, helping to make Café Sapori’s food an exciting experience. At Café Sapori all the food is homemade from the appetizers, sal- ads, and entrees through to the desserts. The gluten free pasta is made fresh inhouse and always avail- able. Since each meal is made espe- cially for you, allergies can be han- dled without issue. The specials are changed daily. This ever-changing rotation of meals reflects chef Carlos’ unique style. With Valentine’s day approaching it is time to make your reservations at Café Sapori . Mani and Matt suggest that you start your romantic dinner with a delicious order of Calamari Sapori which is served with sweet sausage and cherry peppers in a bal- samic reduction. Follow that up with their tantalizing String Bean Salad served with avocado, cherry toma- toes, roasted beets topped with crumbled blue cheese and a mustard vinaigrette dressing. For your entrée some freshly made pasta could be enjoyed with ordering the Pappardel- la Sapori. Chef Carlos’ Pappardella is served with short ribs, ground beef then topped with shaved asiago cheese. Perhaps your loved one would savor the Veal Sanremo which is amazing with the unusual combi- nation of veal with grapes, apples, and cranberry in white wine and a touch of cream. You could finish this amazing meal by ordering zabaglione, which is egg, brown sugar, sweet marsala with a touch of cognac, raspberry and strawberry, a dessert that is a walk on the wild side. Plan to enjoy your next celebration at Café Sapori as they can accom- modate up to 100 people or have them cater your party.
