Having grew up in nearby Bernardsville, he attended Bernards High School and played on the foot- ball team, never realizing that one day his work would bring him right back to where he started. Desiderio’s Market and Catering not only has a prime location on Main Street (Route 202) in Bedminster, but also has the charm of a local spot where one can feast their eyes on an array of delectable lunches and more. The crisp blue paint of the house Desiderio’s resides in makes it appear quaint, and like an eatery that has fresh ideas and tastes. Open daily from 7am-8pm, the Market serves items for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Also a full-service caterer, Desiderio’s has a full team of servers and bartenders for their off-premise catering, which has included parties such as back- yard barbeques. With all orders made fresh, customers have the option for dine-in, delivery, or take-out. Favorite items on the menu include the Avocado Toast, Mar- garita Pizza, and Rigatoni alla Vodka. Panini’s also are a popu- lar item with choices including a Grilled Chicken, Eggplant, Roasted Red Peppers and Moz- zarella, and California Rib Eye Cheesesteak, to name a few. Appetizers, soups, salads, burg- ers, and of course numerous Italian lunch and dinner items make Desiderio’s Market and Catering an option for even the pickiest eater. Coming from someone who has worked in the food industry for decades, Desiderio had experience creat- ing a menu with great appeal. “I went on to start my first pizza place in 1994 in Hampton in Hunterdon County,” Deside- rio recalls. He then opened two more locations in northwestern New Jersey before selling them and currently owns and oper- ates one other Desiderio’s restaurant in Washington, New Jersey in addition to the Bed- minster location. Used to busy days, he is happy with the open- ing of his new spot and most importantly, its location. I’m very happy to be back home where I grew up,” he says.
