Happy February/March to all of our loyal readers! We are de- lighted to present a fabulous issue of The Warren-Watchung Connection just in time for Win- ter to end and Spring to begin. With that in mind we have in- cluded several wonderful sections in the magazine: Kidz Connection Section, with summer camps and activities to keep the kids busy and happy this spring, Tie The Knot Section, Houses of Worship Sec- tion as well as our regular sections, Home & De- sign, Spotlight on Seniors, Dining Out, Health & Wellness and our Community Calendar. In ad- dition, we are thrilled to highlight the following busi- nesses in this edition: Mt. Horeb School - Summer Fun, Beautique Hair Design, Jefre Bridals, Jules’ Closet, Café NUNE, Spice Isle Restaurant, The TeaCompany Cafe, AFC Urgent Care, Dr. Jim Bremner, DC and Bulldog Custom Builders/DCR Landscaping & Construction. Our talented writers have given us unique insight into these businesses and their respective owners. We hope you enjoy these articles as well as the many other interesting editorials in this issue, some written by local profes- sionals and business owners in our community. Talented artist, Peter Fiore, adorns our front cover with an oil on linen entitled, “Tangle 9.” Peter’s work takes landscape to a different level, leaning on the tradition of landscape painting with a modern approach. The white pine trees near his home have become his latest motif. He states, “Trees have always been an important subject for me and I believe on many levels that they are metaphors for life. They have long histories and many stories to tell. I’m often struck by how some trees are more than just trees, they are very much a presence. I have made many paintings of these pines – visiting often throughout the seasons. “Tangle 9” being a part of this series is a very specific portrait of a tree at sun- rise. I was taken by the action of the morning sun il- luminating this tree, a shadow of another tree was cast upon my subject which made me contemplate that we are all touched by forces beyond ourselves.” Please read his impressive bio on page 8. We encourage you to view our ONLINE RECIPE BOOK this Season! It has been growing with recipes from our local readers as well as some of the local restaurants!
