ONLINE ORDERING www.MarinosPizza.net CAFÉ VENEZIA 1938 Washington Valley Road Martinsville By: Joanne Kleinle Leo Bytyqi What are the three things that make a meal out a great experi- ence? The setting, the service and most of all, of course, the food. These three elements all come together at Café Venezia, the new Italian restaurant in Martinsville. It won’t be long before the secret is out and the name Café Venezia becomes synonomous with a great Italian meal. The menu speaks for itself. Owner Leo Bytyqi has been working in the best restaurants in the Som- erset Hills area since he was sixteen years old. He and his family know all about good food, quality ingredi- ents and what makes a good meal a great one. When they decided to work together and open their own restaurant, they wanted to create an upscale dining experience, but make it affordable enough that cus- tomers did not have to save it for a special occasion. Before opening Café Venezia, Leo travelled in Italy for four months tasting the latest dishes, learning traditional recipes and appreciating the fresh ingredi- ents and vibrant mix of flavors. He brought back everything that he learned and recreated it in the menu at Café Venezia. Café Venezia’s menu includes traditional dishes like veal picatta, fresh gnocchi with pesto and a chicken scarpariello that is incompa- rable to anywhere else. These tradi- tional dishes stand out because the chef, formerly of Sestri’s in Gillette, uses the freshest ingredients and knows how to blend the flavors to make an ordinary dish extraordinary. One standout is Café Venezia’s sig- nature salad–the Insalate Venezia. The salad mixes avocado, shrimp, arugula, diced tomatoes and onions with a homemade dressing so good that one customer commented that he would eat it on its own! If you are lucky and the veal saltimbocca is a special, you have to taste it. The tender veal cutlets and salty pro- sciutto mixing with the creamy wine sauce is out of this world! Café Venezia also offers a new, modern take on some favorite dish- es. Fried calamari is served with a homemade ginger balsamic reduc- tion with hot cherry peppers and sweet sausage and the surf and turf–lobster tail and filet mignon–is an amazing blend of fresh flavors in a gigantic portion, making it one of the best values on the menu! Everything on Café Venezia’s menu is incredible. You will find yourself coming back again and again–torn between ordering some- thing new until you have tried the whole menu and re-experiencing an old favorite. The restaurant itself is classic and understated. Everything is new and modern with intimate tables and plenty of space so that you do not feel crowded. Mr. Bytyqi has spent his life in the area’s finest restaurants, where the customer is treated to a friendly smile and impeccable service every time. Despite the reasonable prices on the menu, the service and the personal attention given to each customer is like that in the most exclusive of restaurants. So try something new this year. Café Venezia is located at 1938 Washington Valley Road in Mar- tinsville. Call 732- 356-3500 for a reservation for lunch or dinner.
