Summer is here and so is The Warren-Watchung Connection! We proudly present a fabulous issue filled with many NEW ad- vertisers and exciting new pro- motions in the ads of our loyal returning businesses. Our dedicated sections in this issue include: Summer Programs, featuring many activities and camps to keep the kids busy this summer, Home Sweet Home, which highlights everything home related, Tie The Knot for weddings, Dining Out with some great new restaurants and outdoor patio options, Health & Wellness to keep us balanced and happy this season. Also our Spotlight on Seniors includes a heartfelt column by Ellyn Mantell and of course our Community Calendar introduces the new summer programs, clubs and activites. We hope you keep this magazine in your homes all summer as a valuable source for all your local needs! Highlighted from our business/professional com- munity this issue are: Fiorilli Hair Design, Marino’s Trattoria, Ye’s Asian Bistro, Get In Shape for Women and Beacon Financial Group. Our tal- ented writers have given us unique insight into these businesses and their respective owners. Local artist, John Reilly, adorns our cover with an oil painting entitled “This Bud’s For You.” John painted this piece on a bright spring day in the gar- dens of an old estate. He was enjoying the wild flow- ers and the beauty that surrounded him. His works include many local scenes and his paintings are known as ‘spontaneous studies done in oil.’ John re- flects on his varied subject matter: “Subjects range from belly dancers to corporate executives, quiet churches to roaring roller coasters. These subjects ex- press my passion for variety and spontaneity. Bold use of color is tempered by sensitive brushwork. My goal is to simply capture the unique visual essence of these subjects.” Please read John’s impressive bio on page 8. Look for our FUN contest in this issue: SPOT THE FAKE!
