The disease directly affects the nerves in the upper or lower extremities and can be caused from a variety of circumstances including diabetes, poor nutrition, chem- icals including cancer drugs and alcohol. A vast majority of patients with neuropa- thy have no known cause and are diag- nosed with idiopathic neuropathy.
