Mary Lou Hanlon and her Border Collies, Shazam and Wizard were among the more than 3,000 dogs competing in the events of Westmin- ster Week, which included the icon- ic 139th Annual Westminster Kennel Club All Breed Dog Show and the agility trial. The agility trial is limit- ed to dogs competing at Master level, which includes both purebred and mixed breed (All American) dogs. Mary Lou Hanlon, owner of Pet- Minders, Inc., The Kennel Alterna- tive, has been providing quality in- home animal care and dog training lessons in the comfort of the own- ers homes in Warren and sur- rounding towns for the past 20 years. This was her and her dogs 2nd showing at Westminster. On Monday and Tuesday, February 16-17, breed competition in West- minster’s world-famous all-breed dog show was held during the day at Piers 92/94. The evening finals (Groups and Best In Show) were held at Madison Square Garden on Monday, February 16 and Tuesday, February 17. For the first time, The Westminster Kennel Club held AKC Meet The Breeds brought to you by Purina Pro Plan on Pier 92 on Saturday as well, giving Westminster Week a full range of informational and fun dog- related activities.
