In addition we are happy to present the Charming Chester Sec- tion, featuring the businesses in the town of Chester. We hope you keep this edition in your homes this spring as a resource for shopping, professional care, dining and more! Featured from our business/professional commu- nity this issue are: Lumi Zi Restaurant, Village Bistro, Basking In The Sun, Borregaard, Pet Sup- plies Plus and Peony’s Envy Flower Farm. Our tal- ented writers have given us unique perspective into these businesses and their respective owners. In ad- dition we have some wonderful columns such as Ask The Designer, Big Apple Bites, Slice of Life, Col- lectible Corner, Art Connection, Real Estate De- sign Tips and many more. Please enjoy these editorials, some written by local businesses. Adorning our front cover this issue by local artist, Janet Cunniffe-Chieffo, is an oil on copper entitled, “Yellow Roses.” Using the unique surface of copper, Janet’s painting glows off the page. She states, “I was inspired to explore how the copper surface could en- hance the colors yellow and red. A beautiful bouquet of yellow roses and an ornate red cloth were the per- fect subjects to pair. In my north lit studio, I was sur- prised to discover copper undertones throughout the entire still life setup. Not only do the roses and cloth make great use of the copper undertone, but the sil- ver pitcher has many subtle variations as well. Upon close inspection, the viewer can find many areas of the painting where the copper is delicately exposed. I had great fun creating Yellow Roses. ” Look for our FUN contest in this issue: SPOT THE FAKE! Somewhere in this issue is a fake ad. Find it and email us at Spotthefake@theconnections nj.com.
