A neighborhood jewel of a restaurant, it is a popular destina- tion. Owner, Benny Mavraj, has been in the restaurant business for over twenty years and gained his experi- ence in both Italy and the U.S. His passion for food and impeccable service creates the perfect balance of exemplary dishes and welcoming atmosphere. In addition, Café Azzurro is a BYOB, which enables the customers to enjoy their own wine to enhance the dining experi- ence. Café Azzurro offers an extensive menu with many tempting choices including fresh fish and seafood, pasta, veal, beef, poultry and vege- tarian options. Sumptuous specials are offered daily to reflect seasonal offerings. Begin your dining experi- ence with one of the many tempting appetizers. A few favorites include eggplant rollantini, eggplant filled with ricotta cheese smothered with a delicious red sauce; seafood salad, calamari and shrimp topped with baby spinach; and beef Carpaccio, thinly sliced raw filet mignon with pecorino and Romano cheese. There are many entrée choices at Café Azzurro , but they are noted for some signature dishes. The seafood Fra Diablo, an ample array of seafood over linguini crowned with a red sauce with the perfect amount of heat. Other great choices include the grilled veal chop with brandy cognac sauce topped with Gorgonzola cheese and the branzino picante with shitake mushrooms and capers in a lemon white wine sauce. Save some room for one of their many fabulous desserts for a perfect finale to your meal. Sample their delicious homemade tiramisu or the chocolate mousse soufflé accompa- nied with vanilla ice cream. Café Azzurro also offers a cater- ing menu to enjoy a special event or occasion.
