In our Community News columns this issue we feature an important event: Keeping Babies Safe An- nual 5K Walk/Run will be held on Sunday, October 11, 2015 at Harry Dunham Park in Basking Ridge beginning at 8:30am with Senator Tom Kean, Jr. as Honorary 5K Chairman. Keeping Babies Safe is a national organiza- tion committed to ensuring safe sleep products for in- fants and providing low-income parents with safe cribs for their babies. We hope you support this important function! Please be sure to keep this magazine in your home this fall as a reference for all of your local needs! Our tal- ented writers have given us unique insight into these business and their respective owners! Local artist, Medy Bozkurtian, adorns our front cover with a beautiful watercolor entitled, “Grapevine Cascade.“ Classically trained in music and a student of art, Medy expresses her vision through music and paint- ing. She states, “The subject matter for this painting is close to my heart and I have painted it numerous times. As I was growing up in Bulgaria, which is neighboring Greece, grapevines were everywhere. In many back yards where friends and family would sit in its shade and spend time together, playing backgammon or shar- ing stories, we would enjoy the fruit with cheese or use the leaves to make a local specialty of stuffed grape leaves or wine. There is something comforting about this ancient giving vine that has withstood the tests of time.” Medy has a very impressive bio on page 8, please don’t miss it. Look for our FUN contest in this issue: SPOT THE FAKE! Somewhere in this issue is a fake ad. Find it and email us at Spotthefake@theconnectionsnj.com.
