It is often viewed as a time for rebirth and renewal. The tender new leaves that form on the trees or the fragrant buds waiting to burst open into beau- tiful flowers remind us how this is a time for growth. The days are longer, warmer and brighter. Even our clocks have sprung for- ward! It’s hard not to notice the infectious effect that is often called “Spring Fever.” Perhaps it’s a PERFECT time for you to use this season to your advan- tage and make some important changes in your own personal growth. Are you aware of facets of your life that you would like to change? Do you want to improve a relationship whether it is with a spouse, family mem- ber or even co-worker? Are you contemplating making a change but not sure or too afraid to start? Have you been dealing with issues that are beyond your control such as a death of a loved one, addiction issues or abuse? Perhaps you are simply feeling sad, anxious, angry or over- whelmed and not really sure why. This can be the most frus- trating dilemma of all. Psychotherapy can help with all of these issues and many more. Emotional well-being is a process and sometimes you need help to get started or keep you on track to achieve your goals. Some- times you need assistance just figuring out what your short or long term goals are. With our help, we can assist you in identifying issues that may be problematic and then help you figure out the best strategies for you to cope with them. This may include learning to identify trig- gers and develop a better method of handling them. Per- haps, it might be beneficial to enhance your problem-solving strategies or negotiation skills. Unsatisfactory relationships whether it is with a spouse, child or co-worker can often be resolved with better communi- cation skills. There are many different ways to manage a situ- ation and we can help you fig- ure out which ways work best for you. So, while spring is still in the air why not consider allowing your- self to benefit from this time of natural renewal? While you con- template your spring cleaning chores around your gardens or closets perhaps you could take it one step further. Put yourself and your mental well being on your “to-do” list and take advantage of all that this season of new beginnings has to offer.
