BECOMING A LEVEL ONE STYLIST By: Danielle Scolaro Fiorilli Hair Design My experience becoming a Level One Stylist has been an exciting journey. Three years ago, I joined the Fiorilli Hair Design Team. At the time, I was still attending cosmetology school and worked as a Front Desk Associ- ate. I wanted to learn every aspect of how a salon ran and operated. While in this position, I was able to observe all the Hairstylists and learn their tricks and knowledge. Eventually, I passed my State Board exams and became a Licensed Hairdresser. I was ecstatic to move on up as a Stylist. I began as Carol’s assistant and am grateful for all the experience I gained from working under her. As the salon expanded, we became part of The Redken Summit Salon System. This afforded me the opportunity to become an Associate and have my own station. Throughout this pro- gram, I worked side by side with a Level Three Stylist, Imtiaz, who men- tored and gave me the opportunity to work with all his clients. The Summit System requires and offers training to keep us up to date with all the latest trends and tech- niques. Recently, I attended the Red- ken Exchange ‘Cut and Know Why’ advanced class, which was a three day seminar in NYC. From this expe- rience, I was able to grow as an indi- vidual and as a Professional Stylist.
